Have you ever watched someone knit and thought, I wish I could do that? Now’s your moment! Discover the joy of knitting by joining Craft Yarn Council certified knitting educator Cheryl Lampard, for a relaxed, hands-on introduction to this wonderful fiber art. Created especially for complete beginners, this friendly workshop will guide you through the basics one step at a time – from holding the needles and yarn, to mastering your very first stitches – building confidence as you go. Although you’ll work at your own pace, Cheryl’s supportive, step-by-step approach ensures you’ll have everything you need to work on a simple coaster, so you’ll leave the first class feeling proud of your progress and inspired to keep knitting. The two-part class format is designed especially to provide the opportunity for you to practice your knitting at home between the two classes.
What You’ll Learn:
How to hold the needles
How to hold the yarn (English/American style)
Knit stitch
Garter stitch
Making a slip knot
Casting on
Purl stitch
Understanding the difference between knit and purl stitches
Binding off

This class is recommended for students aged 16+.

About the Instructor:
Cheryl Lampard is the creator of Knitter Matters, where her weekly knitting videos and workshops inspire a global community. She has created over 100 Knitter Matters episodes on YouTube. One client described working with her as “like having your very own Mary Poppins.”
Her journey began in Brighton, UK, when she founded YōMō Designer Yarns & Knitwear, a pioneering store known for its bold, color-blocked displays and exclusive designs. She was also commissioned to create a collection for the luxury cashmere house W. Bill of Bond Street, London. Certified by the Craft Yarn Council – the primary organization for the yarn industry – as both a Knit Instructor and Knit Teacher, Cheryl teaches knitting workshops across the
community. A cancer survivor herself, she leads a supportive knitting group at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute in Lancaster, PA, offering patients and carers the comfort of creativity and connection. She is also the founder of Style Matters International, an internationally recognized image consultancy, and has appeared live on Fox TV as a Royal Style Expert during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Cancellations More Than 7 Days Before the Workshop
If a cancellation is made more than 7 days before the workshop, a 10% administrative fee will be deducted from any refund to the original form of payment to cover credit card processing and administrative costs. A workshop credit of 100% of the tuition may also be offered. Workshop credits expire 6 months after the date of the workshop.
Cancellations Within 4-7 Days of the Workshop
Cancellations made within 4 to 7 days of the workshop are not eligible for a refund to the original form of payment but may be transferred to another class or issued as a workshop credit for future use. Workshop credits expire 6 months after the date of the workshop.
Cancellations 3 Days or Less of the Workshop
Cancellations made within 3 days of the workshop are not eligible for a refund or a workshop credit.
No-Show Policy
If you do not notify us ahead of the class and fail to attend, you are not eligible for a refund or a workshop credit.
Classes canceled by the instructor or the Guild.
Students are eligible to receive a 100% refund to the original form of payment or workshop credit if the workshop is canceled by the instructor or the Guild. Workshop credits expire within 6 months of the date of the workshop.
