Instructor: William Jefferies

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate; must have some level of experience using a sewing machine.

In this class, students will learn to sew a lined tote bag with pockets that you can take with you to the market, beach, or wherever your heart desires. Each student will be provided with class materials and will have a choice between denim or canvas fabric. If you have suggestions on a different type of material, please let me know as long as it is medium weight.

Please note *** A materials fee of $15 is due to the instructor at the time of the class. (CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal)

Masks are not required to attend class, however, you may wear one if you want. Also, if you feel sick, please have the courtesy not to come to class. I am sure that arrangements can be made for a later date.

About the Instructor:
Hello there! My name is William and my obsession with the fashion industry started in 10th grade when I first learned screen printing and I began making t-shirts for family and friends. After high school, I embarked on a mission to gain further knowledge about the fashion industry attending Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts(AiYork) and the Art Institute of Philadelphia, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design. During college, I secured internships at SeanJohn and Undr Crwn Footwear &Apparel, as well as doing some freelance work for Elusion Clothing. I currently run a handmade denim company ( www.jackandjeffdenimco.com) doing custom projects or small batches. I have an online class, “ Sewing with Willie J: A Tote Bag Story”, on www.Skillshare.com as well as a sewing blog, www.WilliamSewFresh.weebly.com that I started at the beginning of 2023.
