The Cumberland Valley Craftsmen (CVCG) came into being in 1973, and since its inception, the members of the CVCG have been dedicated to improving the quality of crafts taught, produced, and sold in the Cumberland Valley and throughout Pennsylvania. For many years they had a close relationship with the Franklin County Extension Office (of PSU).

They have been actively involved in the PGC since its beginning and have produced many board members including current board member Ed Beard and two past presidents of the PGC, Jack Middour and Karri Benedict. Many past and present members have been designated Master Artisans by the PGC.

They have in the past sponsored two annual crafts shows, one at Renfrew Park in Waynesboro and one at Wilson College in Chambersburg; as well as a studio tour of local chapter members. Most recently, they sponsored a holiday show at Penn National Estates in Fayetteville.

CVCG is a charter member of the 42 West Arts Co-op in Waynesboro, PA, where its members exhibit and sell their work. They work year-round with our members and area arts and community organizations promoting their member craftsmen, including participation in local marketing events and providing demonstrations where possible.
