The Lancaster Designer Craftsmen

Lancaster Designer Craftsmen (LDC) was formed in 1946 as the Conestoga Valley Chapter, Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, and is one of the oldest chapters in the state. It is a membership organization which shares the same purpose as the State Guild: “To encourage and promote the Pennsylvania Crafts and Craftsmen”.

Chapter meetings are held throughout the year, at the PGC offices on Queen Street in Lancaster. The dates for these meetings are listed on the Meetings & Events page of our website, and include a holiday party in December. Meetings provide an opportunity to share current work and new ideas with other craftspeople, and often learn new craft techniques!

Lancaster Designer Craftsmen’s Artisan Fair debuted in 2016 and was an unqualified success.  Over 90 artisans participated in the inaugural two day show, which has grown and evolved each year since then.  See our Artisan Fair website for more information and to apply.

There are many ways to become involved in the activities and running of LDC, as well as helping out with local events run by the State Guild, and we look forward to your participation and input. Even more opportunities become available once you attain Chapter Juried status; please contact any board member for more information. Of course, please feel free to contact any officer or board member if you have questions about our organization.
