Instructor: Carol Reed

Skill Level: Beginner

Join us for indigo dyeing during the “blue” hours! In this class, we will create a synthetic indigo vat and use some simple resists to dye a pair of bamboo socks and a cotton knit circle (infinity) scarf. When you’re ready to dye you will see the wonder of indigo as your creation emerges from the dye bath, colored green, and turns blue before your eyes. Each student may also bring a t-shirt, yard of cloth, or a bit of yarn to dye from home. Indigo dyed natural fibers and prefers cotton. Additional pairs of socks  ($4.00 each) be available for purchase if you want to make more.  Please wear old clothes.

All materials are included in the tuition. This class is appropriate for teens to adults.
