Instructor: Barry Miller

Skill Level: Beginner

Join us to carve a simple snowman ornament in July.  Take some time to get out of the heat and think cooler thoughts and also get a jump on either a Christmas decoration or gift.  Carve a simple snowman ornament from start to finish.  There will be enough material provided to carve two to three ornaments.  We will ensure that you have finished at least one ornament prior to leaving class for the day.  We will also discuss painting and sealing the carvings.

Basic carving tools will be provided if you are looking to get your feet wet in the carving world.  I will also have tools available for purchase if you want to continue after class.  Contact Barry at whittlechips@gmail.com prior to class if you are interested in purchasing a beginners carving kits.  If you already have carving tools then a knife, a small v-tool, and a #9 ¼” gouge are all you will need to carve this project.  Most of the work can be done with a knife.

All materials will be provided. Kits will be available for students to purchase if they have an interest in carving at home.
