Instructor: Sara Gallo

Skill Level: Beginner

Students will learn about the 4Cs of diamond grading and the best gemstones for everyday wear. We will look at real examples of various stone setting styles, and traditional and non-traditional engagement rings, and create an engagement ring design detailing accurate measurements and gem placement.

Students are encouraged to bring the following to aid in the design process: a device to access the web (laptop or iPad preferred, phones are OK), printed out or digitally accessible inspiration images of jewelry, a special photo of a memory with your partner (or bring your partner to design with!), and any heirloom jewelry items you may be considering using in your engagement ring design.

By the end of class, students will submit their designs to be 3D printed for trying on at home in approximately 2-3 weeks (models may be mailed to you or picked up at the guild).

In addition to designing their engagement ring, students will have the opportunity to have their design made by a jeweler using precious metals, diamonds, and gemstones for an additional price. A quote for each engagement ring to be produced will be provided with the 3D-printed model.

**The price of the engagement ring is not included in the class or instructor fees. Having the actual engagement ring made is optional. Pricing for each student’s uniquely designed ring will be supplied with the 3D printed model approximately 2-3 weeks after class. Students will have the option to set up a follow-up in person or zoom meeting with the instructor. Delivery of the final engagement ring will be determined once the wax model and pricing are approved. This process generally takes 4-6 weeks.

All materials are included in the tuition. The materials fee covers one 3D printed model of their ring design.
