Instructor: Carol Reed
Skill Level: Beginner
Join us to naturally dye a one-of-a-kind scarf. We’ll use fresh eucalyptus leaves to create a unique pattern on a silk scarf. Through the magic of eco-dyeing, the leaves impart their color to the cloth. In the morning session, you’ll put your scarf together, place them in the dye bath and learn about the process. We’ll also make string bracelets from naturally dyed cotton with a naturally dyed bead as we wait for the water to boil. While the scarves are dyeing, you’ll have free time from 11:30 to 1:30 to have lunch, relax and visit the downtown shops. At 1:30 p.m. we’ll remove the scarves from the bath and have the “big reveal”.
All materials are included in the tuition.
This class is appropriate for teens to adults.
