Join us to naturally dye a one-of-a-kind scarf. We’ll use fresh eucalyptus leaves to create a unique pattern on a silk scarf. Through the magic of Eco-dyeing the leaves impart their color to the cloth. And because we will be “cooking” our scarves in avocado dye they will be lovely shades of orange and pink. You’ll learn about the history of Eco-dyeing, good dye techniques, and how to care for your scarf. While the scarves are dyeing, we’ll explore the magic of indigo and dye a cotton bandana blue. You may have little free time to explore the shops downtown before we remove the scarves from the bath and have the “big reveal.

Material fee, payable to the instructor at the time of the class: $22 for a silk scarf

This class is appropriate for teens to adults.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen does not provide cash refunds for the cancellation of classes unless the class is canceled by the instructor or the Guild.

In order to request a withdrawal from a workshop, students must contact the Guild by phone at 717-431-8706 or contact us here at least 7 days prior to the class. Students who request a withdrawal at least 7 days prior to the class will receive a credit that can be used toward another workshop. No refunds or transfers will be given to cancellation requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice of the class.
