In this class, students will learn the art of flame-working glass to create beautiful and unique cactus sculptures. Students will start by learning the basic techniques of flame-working, including safety procedures, tool handling, and glass shaping. They will then move on to creating a cactus sculpture using these techniques.
Students will learn various glass manipulation techniques such as twisting, bending, and layering to create different cactus shapes and textures. They will also learn about color applications to create vibrant cacti.
The class will cover the use of torches, hand tools, and other flame-working equipment. Students will have access to the necessary tools and materials, including glass rods, torches, kilns, and safety gear. By the end of the class, students will have a beautiful, unique glass cactus sculpture to take home and display. They will also have gained valuable skills and knowledge in the art of flame-working glass that they can use to create other glass sculptures in the future.
The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen does not provide cash refunds for the cancellation of classes unless the class is canceled by the instructor or the Guild.
In order to request a withdrawal from a workshop, students must contact the Guild by phone at 717-431-8706 or contact us here at least 7 days prior to the class. Students who request a withdrawal at least 7 days prior to the class will receive a credit that can be used toward another workshop. No refunds or transfers will be given to cancellation requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice of the class.
