Instructor: Carol Reed
Skill Level: Beginner
It’s fast, it’s magical and it’s everyone’s favorite blue. Learn about indigo and explore various Shibori resist methods. When you’re ready to dye you will see the wonder of indigo as your creation emerges from the dye bath colored green and turns blue before your eyes. We will be using a synthetic indigo vat to dye a pair of bamboo socks and a cotton bandana (27” x 27”). Plus, you can bring one item from home to dye – a t-shirt, skein of yarn or other natural fabric textile.
Additional pairs of socks ($5.00 each) and bandanas (27” x 27” $3.00) to dye will be available for purchase.
You may finish sooner if you’re not making additional items.
Please wear old clothes.
All materials are included in the tuition. This class is appropriate for teens to adults.
