Instructor: Andrew Loercher
Skill Level: Beginner
Join us for an afternoon and craft your own Redware pie plate using the slab method. Guided by Redware potter, Andrew Loerchner, you’ll sketch out your design before applying glaze. Your creations will then be fired at Andy’s studio and ready for pickup at the Guild within two weeks. These food-safe pie plates are not only functional for baking but also perfect for display. Don’t forget to bring your rolling pin, a tin or glass pie plate for pressing clay, and any design ideas you’d like to incorporate – whether it’s a traced pattern, an impression from a cookie cutter, or a freehand drawing.
About the Instructor:
Andrew Loercher has been a redware potter for 45 years. He participates in a number of arts shows each year and is a member of the PA Guild of Craftsmen. Andy is a native of Lancaster county and taught art education for Kindergarten through the college level at Millersville University
