Instructor: Stained Glass Master Artisan Dan Hayward
Skill Level: Participants should have completed at least one beginner stained glass panel project (may be with any instructor/venue) and have a desire to improve skills or take on more complex projects.
Description:
The Stained Glass Open Studio is open to anyone who has worked in glass, who wants to have use of the full suite of tools and workspace and who would like to be able to consult with Dan for guidance or assistance. Participants provide their own glass and supplies and may bring projects which are already in process or start new projects using either their own pattern or any of the patterns which are made available to PGC Beginner classes. The Open Studio is an excellent way to network with other glass artisans and receive advice and assistance from your peers and from Dan.
Dan will begin this session with instruction and practice on the use of the Morton and Beetle Bits systems for cutting strips and geometric shapes accurately and repetitively. If you have one of these tools and want to have assistance getting started, please bring your Morton or Beetle Bits system with you.
Be sure to bring all of your other questions as well as your projects where you would like assistance or advice.
Fee: $55, which includes the use of all tools and equipment, access to the instructor’s pattern collection, participation in the “instructed workshop” at the beginning of the session, unlimited questions for Dan, Dan’s assistance where needed. Participants come and go as they wish during that timeframe, recognizing that the “instructed” portion is always at the beginning of the day.
