Instructor: Dan Hayward

Skill Level: Intermediate – Participants should have completed several stained glass projects (e.g., panels, butterflies, snowflakes) and be familiar with the basic cutting, breaking, foiling and soldering skills.

The objective of this workshop is to create a structure with sides, bottom, and no top.  The finished product may be a candle holder, a vase or a “box”.

For this 1-day workshop, instructor Dan Hayward will provide a selection of stained glass “heads and tails” (irregular edges due to having been trimmed from a larger sheet of hand-rolled art glass) from which to choose.  From these, you can cut the piece to create a structure with at least 3 sides.  Dan will guide you on how to solder the pieces together, then cut a bottom for the structure and complete soldering.  You may also, if you wish, create a simple design of your choice and use other glass available from the inventory which Dan provides for other stained glass classes. Most persons will be able to complete two simple boxes during the workshop.

The tuition includes all tools and equipment, glass and supplies.
