Instructor: Sara Gallo

Skill Level: Intermediate

In this intensive stone setting class, students will learn diamond anatomy, how to create a gem map, and learn to set faceted round and oval gemstones into 4-prong head, 6-prong head, and bezel settings. A base metal practice ring and sterling silver final project ring will be provided. Students will also learn how to size their sterling silver final project ring. If time permits, students will have the opportunity to learn an additional stone setting technique, flush setting.

This class is recommended for intermediate-level+ jewelry artists.

Basic soldering experience is highly recommended. The pace of the class will be determined by its students.

Please note *** A materials fee of $75 per student is due to the instructor at the start of the class.

About the Instructor:

Sara Gallo is an artist, jeweler, and CAD designer based in Lancaster, PA. She earned her BFA and BSE from Millersville University and MFA with a concentration in Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM from Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Sara exhibited in the prestigious PMA craft show in 2011 and 2016. She currently works part-time as a custom jeweler, teaches with the PA Guild, and is a stay-at-home mom to her two kids.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: 

The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen does not provide cash refunds for the cancellation of classes unless the class is canceled by the instructor or the Guild.

In order to request a withdrawal from a workshop, students must contact the Guild by phone at 717-431-8706 or contact us here at least 7 days prior to the class. Students who request a withdrawal at least 7 days prior to the class will receive a credit that can be used toward another workshop. No refunds or transfers will be given to cancellation requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice of the class.

Please note that we are unable to provide refunds for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts. If you are sick with Covid-19 or believe that you may have been recently exposed, please email kelly@pacrafts.org.
