Close-toed shoes are a must, and please refrain from wearing synthetic clothing. You must also be able to swing a hammer forcefully for several hours.

Days 2 & 3 – Box Making 101
This course will teach students how to make a simple box using the hinges made at the blacksmith workshop. Students will learn safety practices and techniques using power tools through discussion, demonstration, and hands-on practice. Learn about wood selection and box construction techniques, using a router, miter, and table saw setup for cutting accuracy. How to use simple cutting jigs and add decorative woods to the lid. Students will gain experience in other woodworking projects, gluing and square-up techniques, and various options for clamping their boxes and lid during glue-up.
