Fine Craft As A Business: Price is Right & Preparing Your Photos for Juries

    $10.00$15.00

Pricing Your Work: Former Standards VP and avid collector of fine craft, Paula Lewis, will give you some key points about pricing your work. We’ll talk about the differences between retail from the artist, wholesale, and consignment gallery pricing and a little bit about commission work. After retiring from a 20-year career as a musician and singer, Lewis discovered enameling was the perfect medium to continue to express herself creatively. She finds that the elements of harmony, contrast, and movement are as applicable to glass and metal as they are to music.

Jurying Photos: You work hard to perfect your craft, and now you’re trying to apply it to your first show. Or – you’re trying to get into better quality shows and it’s more of a struggle than you anticipated. A key part of a successful application is your photos! This session with Haverford Chapter President Christine Wright will give you better insight into what jurors are looking for in your photos and how to improve the odds of getting accepted to your next fair. Wright has been creating beaded jewelry for over thirty years, and she combines traditional bead weaving techniques with freeform weaving.
