This workshop continues the series of presentations designed to assist those seeking to turn their efforts to create and sell their fine craft into a business.

Brit Peterson, Staff Attorney, Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic, Penn State Law, will do a presentation on Structuring your Craft Business. She will discuss what type of entity to choose when you set up your business – such as sole proprietor, limited liability company, etc. What are the pros/cons of each, tax considerations, liability implications, etc.

Dan Hayward, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and Master Artisan in Stained Glass – will do a presentation on Basic Business Principles in operating a Craft business. He will discuss the transition from Hobby to part-time/full-time job, getting started in the business, separating your personal finances from your business, mobile payments, record-keeping, taxes, insurance, copyrighting and more.
