Denise Wilz
Denise Wilz has been creating Pennsylvania Redware since 2002. She is a Master Artisan of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and is included in the Directory of Traditional American Crafts presented by Early American Life magazine. Denise has a degree in Studio Art from Moravian University and was a computer programmer prior to opening her pottery studio. Veranda magazine featured her work in 2023 in the article "A Fiery Renaissance ~ Modern potters are reshaping centuries-old ceramic arts, signaling a bold new era for American craft". Her article Pennsylvania Redware was published in Pottery Making Illustrated magazine and is included in three books by the American Ceramic Society. wilzpottery.com

Ann Benton Yeager
Ann Benton Yeager is a native of Lancaster County, and more specifically, hails from a small college town named Millersville. Ann is representative of a lineage of very accomplished artists, including her Great, Great Uncle, Thomas Hart Benton (an American Regionalist Painter 1889-1975). Benton taught and mentored Jackson Pollock (an American Abstract Expressionist 1912-1956). To add to her credentials, Ann has been internationally published in the 2016 International Contemporary Artists, Volume XI, publication. She also won the first Readers’ Choice Award for Best Artist for the “Simply the Best” contest in Harrisburg Magazine in 2021. Ann has won numerous awards at juried exhibitions in the local area. Ann is an abstract, contemporary artist who specializes in acrylic mixed media, cold wax and oil and acrylic pouring. Ann also works heavily in alcohol inks and dabbles in watercolor. She enjoys adding serious texture to her works by using unusual materials to add interest to the canvas. Ann also teaches art classes in several counties in Central PA. She absolutely loves sharing her knowledge with others who have the same passion or simply want to try something new. Some of her artistic influences are many of the modern and post-modern expressionistic artists of the 60’s and 70’s, primarily Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Jane Plum and Mark Rothko. Ann has exhibited in numerous juried shows, cultural centers and galleries, as well as local community shows and art galleries. She is an artist-in-residency at The Millworks, 340 Verbeke Street, Harrisburg, PA. Feel free to stop by Studio 103 to meet her and see her works in person.
